Jean served as Administrative Assistant to the Dr.Rochelle Lowery and Dr. Norman Sauce, III principals of Chamblee Charter High School from 2005 to 2016. Employed by AT&T as a network cable hazard monitor 1995-2005. Jean served as Assistant Vice President of Telecommunications for Fulton Federal Saving and Loan Association until 1994. She began her career with them in 1971 working in mortgage lending. Jean attended Spelman College and Devry. She received a BS degree in Network Management and Communications from Devry.
Holly Middleton, Ph.D,
Dr. Holly is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked in the Atlanta area for 20 years. She specializes in work with children, adolescents, and families. She holds degrees from both Duke University and Georgia State University. Dr. Middleton served as a volunteer at Chamblee Charter High School until her daughter graduated in 2015. She is excited about continuing her service to the Chamblee community through her efforts for Chamblee Cares.
Jacques recently retired from Citizens Trust Bank of Atlanta where she was Senior Vice President and Manager of the Consumer Banking Division.
Jacques, who is a native of McDonough, Georgia, graduated from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. She received a B.S. Degree in Math and Economics. Jacques has had an extensive career in banking that include Fulton Federal Savings and Loan, Decatur Federal, First Union and Citizens Trust Bank. Her career included 20 years as a branch manager. Her role at Citizens Trust Bank included the management of the Retail, Marketing, Invest and Insurance Divisions of the Bank.
Jacques has a Series 7 and 63 Investment License and is a Licensed Insurance Agent for the State of Georgia.
Jacques and her husband, Sylvester, are the parents of four children (Sylvester Lee II, Sheneal Tripp, Santoine Lee and Dr. Stedman Lee) and five grandchildren.
Carmen is an Assistant Director and teacher at Brookhaven UMC Child Development Center and owner of Carmaria Skai Video Editing and Web Design. She possesses degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Georgia State University, Early Childhood Education from Georgia Perimeter/GSU, and Computer Support from Georgia Piedmont College. She is also a proud member of the Ga Preschool Association, enjoys working with children and spending time with family.
Dr. John Simmons
John Simmons, an ordained United Methodist clergy, currently serving at St James UMC on Peachtree Dunwoody Rd. Son, Rob, was a 2001 graduate of Chamblee HS magnet program. John has served a variety of United Methodist churches and administrative positions, all in the northeast quadrant of metro Atlanta except for 5 years in Athens.
Shawn Smash-Jett is a keynote & motivational speaker, corporate coach, on-air radio and television personality, author, business consultant, and entrepreneur who cares deeply about the lives and relationships of her Chamblee community whom she calls her family. She possesses degrees in Accounting from Big Bend, Psychology from Atlanta Metropolitan State College and Kennesaw State University. She currently is pursuing a Masters in International Policy and Doctorate in Conflict Management from Kennesaw State University.
She volunteered full-time for over seven years until her daughter graduated from Chamblee High in 2010. She continued her service long after her daughter's departure and still volunteers faithfully when requested because her passion is for the students. She served on several boards of Dekalb County and the State of Georgia PTSA's, Dunwoody Chamblee Parent's Council, Chamblee Governance Council, and was the Chamblee/Dunwoody Liason and community mentor for several years. She is committed to serving the Chamblee community and is excited about making an impact with our students through Chamblee Cares.
Sandy is a Certified Social Worker who lives in Chamblee.
She graduated from Columbia University with a Master’s of Science in Social Work. Her career includes individual, family and group work with veterans, chemically-dependent clients and, more recently, with students (K-12) in DeKalb County Schools (25 years) until her retirement as a School Social Worker in 2013.
Ms. Slaughter serves on the boards of several non-profits including Chamblee Cares, Inc. (2016) and Truth in Chaos, Inc. (2015).Ms. Slaughter enjoys volunteer efforts to serve teens/families, travel to distant lands, family time and politics.
Nathan has been a long time resident of Chamblee for the past 37 years. Here he has raised his family and in 1986 started NATHAN'S Driving School Inc. Prior to this, Nathan attended DeKalb County schools and Georgia State University. He has a B.S. degree in Psychology and a MBA in Behavioral Management. He has always had a job working with people. His passion is helping others and saving lives. He does not feel like he has a job, he sees what he does as just his way of living. He is well known for being the nice guy who walks to work and has never met a stranger. When he was ask to serve on the Board of Chamblee Cares it seemed the natural thing to do and he is honored to do so.
Sylvester Lee, RPh
Sylvester Lee is a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia. He is the owner of Forward West Professional Pharmacy, located at 2600 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Atlanta, Ga.
Sylvester is a native and resident of Rockdale County. He attended Duke University and graduated from the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy.
Lee has served the Atlanta Community for over 30 years. He provides more than the proper filling of prescriptions. He offers natural, holistic and old fashioned remedies that are hard to find in other pharmacies. He has a genuine interest in his customers welfare.
Sylvester and his wife, Jacques,are the parents of four children (Sylvester Lee II, Sheneal Tripp, Santoine Lee and Dr. Stedman Lee) and five grandchildren.
Doreen is presently an insurance agent and works part time as an event specialist for a marketing company. She has worked in the allied health profession as a medical transcriptionist/editor for over 10 years. She loves volunteering and helping out whenever she can. She is a member of the church of Christ and holds deeply to her faith.
Sarah has been a resident of Dekalb County for 25 years. She graduated from Agnes Scott College with a degree in Psychology and worked in the Property/Casualty insurance industry as an underwriter, trainer, operations manager and systems manager.
For 23 years, Sarah’s primary responsibility has been serving as the full-time at home parent for 3 daughters, two of whom attended Chamblee Charter HS. In the course of carrying out this fulfilling and daunting job, Sarah was an active school-based volunteer in the classroom, with various PTAs focusing on communication, program coordination and administrative assistance, and as a member of the CCHS Governing Committee. As an outcome of her experiences navigating the 504 accommodations process and advocating for a daughter suffering from chronic pain and anxiety issues during her high school years, Sarah has special interests in mental health support in our schools and assistance for parents with a student in crisis.
